Austin Healey Sprite Classic Car

Austin Healey Sprite Classic Car

Leaping into production in 1958, the Donald Healey Sprite was a low cost sports car which used existing BMC parts to ensure over heads of the cars productions remained low. The Austin Healey Sprite would prove to be a big success.

The commonly named “Austin Frogeye”, the Mark I Sprite, was a massive success in its three years of production, with no other car competing on price or performance. As its widely used nick name suggests, the distinctive look of the Mark I Sprite owed itself to the round headlamps on the bonnet of the car, nicked named “frog-eye” headlamps. Cheap and easy to maintain, the wings and bonnet was a one piece unit which opened up to allow easy and large access to the engine. The Mark I used the 948cc Austin A-Series engine which was tuneable and capable of 43bhp, the A35 gearbox and axels, and the twin SU carburettors. Equipped with leaf spring suspension to the front, and wishbone suspension to the rear, the Mark I got it suspension from earlier models such as the A35 and Moris Minor.

The Mark II saw some cosmetic changes including the famous headlamps being moved on to the wings, a change of rear bumper, and the introduction of front disc brakes. The Mark II was also equipped with a new larger engine from the Morris Minor 1000 and Morris Minor 1100, increasing the engine size to 1098cc.

A less performance geared Mark III Sprite was more fined with lockable doors, wind up windows, and quarter lights. With the rebadging of the Sprite by BMC to the Midget, the Sprite Mark III was also sold as the MG Midget Mark II.

The Mark IV had two main difference, with an increased capacity to 1275cc and a convertible roof instead of the removable roofs from the earlier variations.

The production of this classic car ended in 1971. Today many of this classic cars are known as “Spridgets” with the classic car enthusiasts community due to the Austin Healey Sprite and the MG Midgets sharing the same design and parts. This makes finding parts relatively easy due to the parts being interchangeable.

This Mortal Kombal vs DC Universe review features gameplay footage from the game in HD. This is an awesome fighting 3D fighting game, no way around it. From Midway, Warner Bros. and DC Comics comes this bizarre yet enjoyable combination of the Mortal Kombat franchise and the DC comic book characters like Superman, Batman, Lex Luther, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Catwoman. The Mortal Kombat characters that you know and love are here for mortal combat including Raiden, Sonya Blade, Jax, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Liu Chang. Which universe will you choose to fight in? That’s the beauty of this game, fight a parallel storyline with one of two opposing sides. The writing in this game is campy, impossible and awesome. Fatality moves for Mortal Kombat and DC characters are in the game, and although the violence has been toned down a bit with DC Heroic Brutality (seriously??), the Fatality moves are fun to watch and nicely rendered in 3D animation. In many ways this is a superior game, Mortal Kombat vs. Soul Calibur IV or Virtua Fighter 5… who wins? CGRHD likes this game better, short and easy to memorize button combos, great gameplay and that awesome mixture of DC and MK characters. One of the better fighting games out there for the 360 and PS3. Classic Game Room HD reviews new games with

Kayak Kanopy Shades Kayak Fishing Classics Series

Kayak Kanopy Shades Kayak Fishing Classics Series

Kayak Kanopy Joins Kayak Fishing ClassicS Series

By Katrinka Swenson

Kayak Kanopy, the maker of a canopy for kayaks, is a proud sponsor of the Kayak Fishing ClassicS tournament.

Melvin Hopkins couldn’t stand the Florida sun beating down upon him while bicycling. Using the knowledge his mother had taught him, he sewed together a cover for his bike.

After a discussion with another biker, the owner of Canoe Outfitters in St. Petersburg, the idea sprung to create the same cover for a canoe. In 2008, a year and a lot of research later, the canopy designed for a kayak launched.

His wife, Linda, helped him to develop the design of the cover.  Made from unique parts, handcrafted by Melvin who used to be a welder, the canopy works for all widths of kayaks, and allows for coverage from behind the seat, providing protection for any bags on board. The material used is specially designed for boating, and therefore, can withstand the elements, with an aft window flap.

The coverage from the back of the kayak is exclusive to Kayak Kanopy, as all others are only flat material above the user. Whereas other canopies are nearly impossible to remove while the kayak is in the water, Kayak Kanopy designed their products to be easy to install and to dismantle – even in the water.

The canopy is a great product to aid any avid kayaker in comfort. It protects from harmful and hot sunrays, rain and other natural elements.

Linsey Eyecare On The Lookout For Classics Series

Linsey Eyecare On The Lookout For Classics Series

Linsey Eyecare Sponsors ClassicS Tournament Series

By Katrinka Swenson

Linsey Eyecare, located 8936 US Highway 19 North, Port Richey, Fla. is a new sponsor for the Tropic Bay Kayak Fishing ClassicS tournament. They will fill the prescription needs of all the winners of Ocean Waves Sunglasses during the competition.

Wife and husband, Dr. Nicole Linsey Parsons, O.D. and Dr. Brent E. Parsons, O.D., help every patient themselves. The Linsey family began their eye care company in 1986 and has remained just as personal ever since, not expanding into a chain store. For more than 20 years, the family has prided itself on offering personalized attention and courteous service to their patients in the Port Richey and Central Gulf Coast areas.

The facility is equipped with the very latest technology and contains its own lens lab to ensure fast and satisfactory service. Along with the state of the art lab, Linsey Eyecare offers many other services, including routine exams, emergency eye care, various tests and same day service.

UV radiation, caused by the harmful rays from the sun, creates permanent damage to the eyes, according to DrGreene.com. Unlike the rest of the body, the cells of the lens of the eye never replace themselves. Ultraviolet exposure is at its most dangerous levels from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and especially when a person is exposed at bright sandy beaches or near reflective bodies of water. Having a pair of prescription Ocean Waves Sunglasses makes it much easier and convenient to protect your eyes.

To learn more about the Linsey family as well as the services they provide, visit their website at http://www.LinseyEyecare.com  or give them a call at (727) 844-3400.

Kayak Fishing Classics Is Heating Up With The Gulf Coast Weather

Kayak Fishing Classics Is Heating Up With The Gulf Coast Weather

Kayaks sat on the sun-sparkled water. Fishing gear sat at the ready, sitting in the water, calling to the fish. The Florida weather was beautiful and a perfect day for the TenAcious Trout Classic of the Kayak Fishing ClassicS tournament series.   New faces joined veteran ones on Saturday, March 27 in the Tampa Bay area to fish the waters and compete in the challenge. The competition was tough, and the winners were greatly rewarded.   Tony Lai placed first in both Fly Fishing and Light Tackle divisions. Derick Burgos took second in both divisions. Newcomers Randy Cohen and his son Mack took third and fourth places in the Light Tackle division, respectively.   Tony and Derick, who have fished in the ClassicS series tournament before, had nothing but good things to say about the products they won in the previous tournament.   Both men liked the Albright Fishing Rods better than previous rods they have fished with. Derick said the rods are constantly accurate, cast easy and are overall great rods. Tony said that the rods catch better and feel nice.  Tony used the Riverbum Saltwater Flies and thought highly of their durability.  Derick said the flies are of high quality, cast easy, have great action and heed good results.   Derick also got many catches, especially trout, with the High Roller Lures.   Aqua Design’s camouflage clothing was agreed on by both men to be light and comfortable, and helps to keep them visually quiet. The clothing also dries quickly, which Derick liked because he doesn’t want to be wet while fishing.   Derick loves Ocean Waves Sunglasses with the mirrored tint that helps with the glare on the water so that he can see straight through. Tony has yet to order his, but he is excited to use them.   The Ice Mule Cooler has held the attention of both men for the quality of the product and its use as a dry bag as well. Derick has used it for its convenience in keeping the fish he catches cold and fresh on his long days fishing when not in a ClassicS Tournament.   And if all that wasn’t enough on the water, both men read up on the sport and are impressed with the accurate, good stories inside Kayak Angler Magazine. It’s one of the only magazines either reads.   Newcomer Randy enjoyed the tournament and had a lot of fun. He truly appreciated all of the products offered as prizes in the tournament and can’t wait to see how he is going to use them.   For more information on the Kayak Fishing ClassicS series tournament, visit their website at www.KayakFishingClassicS.com.
