An Example Of Efficiency

“…no time is wasted beating around the bush, playing charades around price or leaving the customer feeling like prey who haplessly wandered onto a car lot.”

Typically, I write about concepts and use examples to highlight them, but in this case I want to write about a specific example of a process most find to be anything but efficient: buying a car. True, buying a car is not a typical task one performs in a corporate environment, but most people who work in corporations eventually go buy a car. Megacity Vehicle

Megacity Vehicle to become the world’s first volume-produced car with a passenger cell made from carbon.

Vehicle LifeDrive architecture sets benchmark in lightweight design.
Electric motor to be developed and produced in-house.

Munich. The BMW Group is once again breaking new ground with the Megacity Vehicle (MCV), due to come onto the market in 2013: “The Megacity Vehicle is a revolutionary automobile. It will be the world’s first volume-produced vehicle with a passenger cell made from carbon. Our LifeDrive architecture is helping us to open a new chapter in automotive lightweight design. Indeed, this concept allows us to practically offset the extra 250 to 350 kilograms of weight typically found in electrically powered vehicles,” says Klaus Draeger, Member of the Board of Management for Development.

“The drive system remains the heartbeat of a car, and that also applies to electric vehicles,” said Draeger. “Powertrains also remain a core area of expertise of Bayerische Motoren Werke. Electromobility and the hallmark BMW driving pleasure make an excellent match, if you go about things the right way. For this reason we are developing the powertrain for the Megacity Vehicle in-house – that includes the electric motor, the power electronics and the battery system.””

The electrification of a vehicle requires new concepts in vehicle architecture and body construction in order to exploit the potential of the new emission-free drive system to optimum effect. With the revolutionary LifeDrive concept, the BMW Group engineers are developing the car’s architecture from scratch and adapting it to the demands and conditions of future mobility. The goal: to offset the additional weight of an electric vehicle – typically 250 to 350 kilograms. To this end, the BMW Group is focusing on the innovative high-tech material carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP).

Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and Marketing: “In some cases, the automobile markets are recovering much faster than expected. We had a successful first half-year with retail growth of 13.1%, and were able to maintain our position as the world’s leading premium manufacturer.” Robertson added, “We aim to continue this upward trend in the second half of the year. Besides the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, a large number of new models, including the new BMW 5 Series Touring, the new BMW X3, and the MINI Countryman, will help us achieve this.”

The company reported sales growth in almost all regions and all automobile markets in the first half of the year. In Europe, deliveries increased 3.9%, to reach a total of 389,601 (prev. yr. 374,923) units. Could Time Warner Be Using Black Hat SEO to Help Search Rankings? – Rewritten

This is an exclusive story, researched and written by Eric Van Buskirk

Is it possible that MarkMonitor, Inc, who call themselves “a global leader in the fast-growing market for online corporate identity” has been secretly hiding links on behalf of TimeWarner? Is this being done on subdomains of timeinc.net in order to rank high in the search engines? You decide. MarkMonitor owns the domain name timeinc.net, a site with a homepage which re-directs to the main Time.com site. So it would seem they are running this site on behalf of TimeWarner.
